Entering grades 5-8

This intensive three-hour course, designed for Middle School students who need a little extra practice in literature and reading fundamentals, meets daily for four weeks. An excellent opportunity for students in grades 5 through 8 to strengthen reading and writing skills, the program focuses specifically on comprehension, reading fluency, visualization, vocabulary and critical thinking.

SummerEdge’s low student-faculty ratio ensures that each Intensive Reading student receives personal attention and support. Teachers administer pre- and post-assessments to document improvement. At the end of the program, teachers write a report on each student’s progress, strengths and areas needing continued support.
