TGA summer programs provide a safe, fun, interactive, and educational atmosphere that junior golfers of all skill levels will love. TGA specializes in golf but also stresses valuable life and character development lessons that we hope our students will take to the golf course, the classroom, and their homes.
Campers will be bused to Trotter’s Glen Golf Course each morning. Trotter’s Glen has a wonderful practice facility with a range, short game area with a bunker, and a putting green. This will enable us to teach our students all of the correct strokes required to play a round of golf before we head out to the course. The golf course is also very junior friendly and is a great place for every child to enhance their golf skills and have a fun week!
The TGA program, developed with input from PGA/LPGA professionals and PhDs in Curriculum Development and Education, teaches and promotes life values intrinsic to the game of golf such as respect, honesty, teamwork, sportsmanship, commitment and integrity. TGA uses junior golf clubs in four different sizes and the Almost Golf Ball™, a new practice ball designed to be safe for children and easy to hit. TGA is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the National High School Golf Coaches Association.
TGA Camps will always start with introductions and handshakes that promote good sportsmanship. The morning will be full of physical fitness, golf skill lessons, rules, etiquette and drills that reinforce the daily lesson. Classes include friendly competition and skill contests. In the afternoon we will head to the golf course and play several holes to implement what our students have learned from the lessons in the morning. Before returning to campus, we will conclude with a quick review of our lessons for the day and our handshakes with all students that will again promote good sportsmanship and empower our students.
