Wonder Kids

Whet Your Imagination (Grades K-8)

Wonder Kids! invites fun-loving students entering kindergarten through grade 8 to explore six weeks of adventure science. Curious students jump into different action-packed projects each week, exploring such diverse subjects as space travel, spy gadgets and gooey alien chemistry. Museum-quality teaching tools, camp traditions, and theme dress-up days add to the excitement. Team-building activities, water games, art, computers and cooking concoctions promise new creations every day.

2-week program (Lights! Camera! Laughter!) $650

Grouped by age after registration, students take part in three 45-minute lab rotations every morning—Science headline theme, Art Studio and Team-Building.

SCIENCE activities follow the Tech Museum’s Design-in-Mind model. Students work as teams to solve exciting challenges with the materials provided.

ART STUDIO is the crafters’ workshop where science headline themes become complete! For example, where would a wizard potions master be without firing up his own cauldron and color-changing wand?! Or how could a movie director film her big scene without colorful props and larger-than-life scenery?

TEAM BUILDING games strengthen friendship and cooperation. Zany challenges such as Mission Impossible only work when every team member has a role!

After a lunch and recess break, campers enjoy a variety of afternoon activities. Twice a week, children go swimming or take a field trip (weather permitting).

The other 3 afternoons, campers move through three 45-minute rotations —Make it & Take it™ projects, Edible Potions™ and Wonder Kids Outdoor Splash™. Less structured than morning activities, these rotations get students outside. Whether crafting a take-home art project, cooking up tasty treats or teaming up for outdoor drip-and-dry challenges, students get their fill of fun every day.
