Middle School Math

Entering Grades 5-8

Do your best in Middle School math with the help of this four-week comprehensive course. For students entering grades 5-8, this class offers hands-on activities that reinforce mathematical learning. Initial screening on the first day of the program identifies possible gaps in a student’s math understanding and targets areas for review and reinforcement. Students meet three hours daily with instructors to review core math skills and concepts.
The application of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to fractions, decimals and percents gets special attention to prepare students for the math curriculum in grades 5 and 6. In addition, students entering grades 7 and 8 will work through the fundamentals while also tackling simple equations, variables, geometry, and other pre-algebraic concepts. Hands-on activities engage students and reinforce mathematical learning. Math games increase recall and encourage students to move from a concrete to an abstract mathematical understanding.
