What is your camper to staff ratio?
Our camper to staff ratio of 8:1 ensures individual attention for all campers.
Is there before and after care?
Yes! We are pleased to offer the following:
- Early Risers:
8:00 am – 9:00 am
Drop in= $15/day
- Night Owls:
3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Drop in= $30/day
Are there rules/recommendations regarding attire?
We recommend sneakers and socks – no flip flops, please! Halter tops and exposed midriffs are prohibited. In addition, we ask that all elementary age children come to camp daily with a change of clothes (with each item clearly labeled) to be kept in the child’s backpack until the end of the session.
Where do I drop off and pick up my child?
Parents may drop off or pick up campers at McLean School. At dismissal, a sign with your child’s first and last name should be visible on your dashboard. Staff will greet and escort children to and from their cars, however there is parking available on campus should you decide to come into the building. Otherwise, we ask that you wait in the carpool line around the circle until your child is dismissed to ensure a smooth and timely carpool experience for all!
What is the daily attendance procedure?
Attendance is checked every morning, and families should call the SummerEdge Office at 240-395-0679 regarding absences, late arrivals, early dismissals, and other schedule changes. If your child is going home with a friend or being picked up by someone other than a family member, you must inform the office in writing. All campers are expected to remain on campus for the duration of the day unless other parental/guardian arrangements have been made.
Are there food restrictions?
Campers must bring a daily lunch, drink and snack that does not require refrigeration or heating. A supervised lunch takes place from 12 noon to 12:20 in the All Purpose Room. There is a nut-free table available, however please note that we are not a nut-free campus.
Can I celebrate my child’s birthday at camp?
If your child has a birthday during camp and you would like to send in a treat to celebrate, we will need it to come in its original packaging with the ingredients listed on it (for this reason, store-bought treats are preferred). We recommend popsicles, as the ingredients allow for more campers with food allergies to enjoy them as well.
May I get a copy of my SummerEdge invoice and camp Tax ID number for my records?
After you have registered online, you may access your account information at any time. Simply go to summeredge.campbrainregistration.com and log in to your account with your username and password. On the home page you will see where it says View My Registrations. From the home page, click View My Registrations, then click View Registration Details, then, under Financial, click Download Printable Season Account Statement. This will allow you to view and print your invoice. Our Tax ID number can be found in the upper right hand corner of your printed invoice.
Do you provide daily transportation?
No, SummerEdge does not offer daily transportation/busing. Families are asked to drive their child to and from campus each day. On our online application families may indicate whether they would like to be added to a Carpool List. This list will be organized by Zip Code and shared with other registered SummerEdge families closer to the start of camp. Families may then elect to reach out others on the list to potentially set up a carpool on their own.
